To access Instagram app for Android, the users are required to sign up for the Instagram with their mail-id, address, login name and password. This account can be linked to the social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler accounts etc. The Android users can now take photos or use the existing photos from the image gallery on their phones and let them do some quick changes by applying several filter effects and then share those photos with others. This app for Android even allows the users to follow their friends on Instagram which makes it a social network. This app for Android devices made it easy for the users to share their photos with non-Instagram users on Facebook and Twitter. The app developed for Android phones is compatible with all Android phones powered by Android 2.2. The company also launched and upgraded version which has some tweaks fixes like -

Users with limited storage are allowed to install this app on external memory card.

It is found that, more than 1 million Android users downloaded the app in the first 24 hours and there were 719,874 Twitter mentions of Instagram and Android within the first 24 hours of the app's release. There are several other features attached to the application, which makes it something more than an enhancement application.
